30.3.11

Again.
Inspired by something
as simple
as a remark
in passing.

Introducing!

CRAZY TOWN
ARTSCAPES.

Coming soon to a yard near you!

2.3.11

This pretty much sums it up for me.  Mean people suck and good gardening is important. Be nice, and
quit bitching.

I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to work for Home Depot in Matthews NC in the late 90's while it was still run by "old school" Depot. Anyways, I managed to save and bring home several hundred of these, a few at a time...they were shipping supports on pallets of block, thrown away every night. As you can see, they are rebar and one day I may paint them black. These are some of my most important personal possessions.

The art of growing Daphane

My Daphane is about 8 years old. I planted a scrawney 1 gallon plant in a 10 gallon black nursery pot, placed it in a landscaped area facing northeast, next to a bench. Watered it once or twice the first few years and mostly have just ignored it except when it blooms, which is now, end of Febuary this year. Wow, I wish you could smell it. Intoxicating and lemony and you just can't fill yourself up with enough of it! Like the opera! Or a handsome man with an expensive, glorious trademark scent...Yummy nose candy, that Daphane. The whole point of planting it in a pot is for the drainage. Since it is pretty much it's mature size now, I plan on leaving it just where it is. This is one of my most prized possessions!

The Donald in 2012

Yes indeed. I do think I could vote for Donald Trump for President in 2012. Any feedback on that?

Certified Plant Professional (CPP)NCNLA’s Certified Plant Professional (CPP) exam helps demonstrate professionalism in the nursery industry and creates opportunities for career advancement. The CPP exam is a two part test. The written portion identifies knowledge and skills needed while working in a nursery or landscape operation. The Plant ID portion demonstrates knowledge of a wide selection of plant material.
